Olimpio Franco analisando sua obra diante de seu público.

O artista é antecipado das ações do ser humano, que vai modificar e indicar os caminhos a seguir às gerações futuras. Não só no campo da arte e na sua vida social, como um todo. É o criador antenado nos movimentos sociais e no pensamento que aflora no embate de ideias.  É o criador, seja isolado em seu ateliê, seja percorrendo a natureza, para apreendê-la em suas telas, as ideias que deseja ver, concretizadas pelas tintas em composições, utilizando-se também de materiais diversificados. É enfim, o ente que descarrega toda sua energia criadora e a eterniza numa obra, qualquer técnica que venha a empregar. Assim é Olimpio Franco. Preparou-se, seguindo sua vocação, para as artes, estudando com empenho e paciência, todas as técnicas da pintura, assim, como o escritor aprende as primeiras letras e ao longo  de sua vida, as transformam em belos escritos que sua criatividade enseja e que todos desfrutam. A paleta de Olimpio Franco é rica, poderosa, cheia de vida e inquietude, policromada e temperada pela sensibilidade de sua alma. Juntando materiais que cotidianamente vemos em nossa vida prosaica, acrescenta-lhe cores com vigorosas pinceladas. Dispõe em composição que desperta a atenção, mesmo daquele visitante de exposição menos afeito às coisas da arte. Ao instigar-lhe a curiosidade, desperta-lhe também o senso crítico. Não é mais um olhar indiferente, mas intensamente participativo. Essa é uma qualidade rara num artista, e este jovem, a tem muitíssima refinada. Ninguém fica indiferente aos seus trabalhos, que descreve uma trajetória, com ação impactante, para não dizer chocante. Dado ao vigor de suas pinceladas generosas, porém agressivas, mas também atinge a delicadeza, de um ramo de bambu sobre um fundo, cujas suaves cores, sugere um ambiente de tranquilidade zen budista. Ainda jovem, tem muito caminho a percorrer. Certamente, muito trabalho pela frente, muito empenho e dedicação. Está, porém, trilhando o rumo correto e podemos esperar um artista que vai atingir a meta que traçou para a sua vida, com raro esplendor.

The artist antecipates the actions of the human being who will modify and indicate the ways to proceed to future generations, not only in the field of art but also in his social life as a whole. He is the creator, wired into the social movements and into the thinking which florishes in the clash of ideas. He is the creator, whether alone in his workshop, or exploring nature in order to get the ideas which he wnats to see materialized on his canvasses through paint in compositions, making use of a variety of materials. He is finally, the being that unloads all his creative energy and immortalizes in it the work of art, regardless of which technique he uses. This is whats Olimpio Franco is like. He prepared himself, following his vocation for the arts, studying throughly and patiently all the techniques of painting, like a writer lerning his first letters and, all through his life, transforming them into beautiful books which his creativity created and everyone enjoys. The palette of Olimpio Franco is rich, powerful, full of life and uneasiness, colorful and flavored with the sensibility os his soul. Combining materials that we see daily in our tedious lives, he adds colours to them with vigorou brush strokes, he positions them in the compositions so that they stimulate the attentions, even for that exhibition viewer less accustomed to “art things”. By inducing curiosity, he also stimulates a critical appreciation. This canot be na indifferent observation but must be ardently participative. This is a rare quality in an artist and this young man is very cultured. Nobody can be indifferent to his work, which describes a course of impacting, if not say shocking, action, due to the power of his lavish but provocative brush strokes, but he also achieves the dedicacy of a bambu brach on the canvas, whose pale shades suggest a Zen Buddist peaceful atmosphere. Still young, he has a long way to travel. Certainly, there is a lot of work ahead, lots of effort and dedication. He is however, going in the righ direction and we can expect a artist that will achieve the goal he aimed for in his life, with rare brilliance.

Olimpio Franco é um jovem artista, de futuro promissor, cujas características criativas, polivalentes, o colocam em lugar de destaque no cenário de novos valores das artes plásticas. Suas criações, são abstratas e vigorosas. O resultado final obtido é fruto de ações psicomotoras sobre a matéria (acrílicas sobre telas, óleos sobre telas, materiais diversos para assemblages), e combinações intuitivas de cores e disposições espaciais, que levam o observador, diante delas, a parar e imaginar miríades de possibilidades, sem, entretanto, chegar a um resultado final, definitivo. A bem ver, a arte de Olimpio Franco estimula a sensopercepção e pode até chocar, mas sempre levará o espectador a sentir e a pensar algo diante do que vê. Em outras palavras, ninguém fica indiferente a Olimpio Franco, que vem ganhando espaço no interessante mercado do qual fazem parte os novos artistas plásticos brasileiros.

Olimpio Franco is a young artist, with a promising future, whose creative distinguishing style, polivalent, position him as one of the principal figures on the stage of new values in Art. His creations are abstract and powerful. The final result obtained is the fruit of psychomotive activities with materials (acrylics, oils, canvas, various materials for “assemblages”), and intuitive combinations of colours and spacial disposition, which guide the viewer, when in front of them, to stop and imagine a multitude os possibilities, without for the moment, arriving at a final definitive conclusion. As we see it, Olimpio’s art stimulates the sense os perceptions and we can even shock, but always it will make the viewer feel and think about something when he is looking at it. In other words, no-one will be indifferent to Olimpio Franco, who is becaming better known in the interesting fraternity of new Brazilian artists, of which he is a member.
